TargaRacing have a record 6 crews ready to race in this year’s Targa Tasmania. For the first time in many years, the event has been extended and this will be the longest Targa ever held with 570 Km of competition over 5 days.
Adam Spence, marketing director said “the whole team is really pumped and the majority of the six crews have already completed recce. Everyone is feeling well prepared and the excitement is building”
Adam Dodd and Lee Challoner-Miles, in their West End Mazda sponsored MX5 currently sit second in the points after a podium at Targa Wrest point in January. Team Manager, Chris Gough said “the boys were in a great position in last years Targa before a small off on the last day pushed them from the podium. They are performing very well and should do great in this event and this should leave them in a strong position in the Championship”
Reining 2011 Showroom champion, Andrew McKay joins Hartley Sutcliffe who currently sits in 4th place in this years Championship after a podium at Targa Wrest Point. Adam Spence added “these guys are a bit of a dark horse and based on previous individual performances could see a few surprises’
The team is also pleased to welcome back Mark MacKay, Peta Davies, Dennis Neagle and Paul Shacklady.
Also teaming up again are Tracey Button & Adam Spence, this year in the TargaRacing BMW 130i. “The guys came out of the blocks with a fantastic result taking out 3rd Place at Targa High Country” noted Chris Gough. “a technical issue at Targa Wrest Point kept them out of the points but their both rearing to get amongst it at Targa” continued Gough.
